LIMITED EDITION GICLEES
Hand-Signed and Numbered by Jane Loveall
WHAT IS A GICLEE?
• Giclee (Zhee-Clay) is a french word that means “spray.”
• Original artwork is scanned
and printed using professional ink-jet printers that spray archival ink onto high quality paper or canvas.
• A Giclee is
the closest reproduction of an original artwork that is currently possible.
• Giclees can be found in many
museums around the world.
WHAT IS A LIMITED EDITION?
• There are two types of editions for artwork reproductions –
open editions (95% of my work) and limited editions. With the former, the artist may make an unlimited number of reproductions
from an original. With the latter, the artist chooses to produce a small number of reproductions, usually between 10 and 250 although
much larger limited editions are available. Limited edition reproductions are usually hand-signed and numbered by the
artist whereas open edition reproductions are usually not signed. Due to limited supply, a limited edition of an
artwork would be more valuable than an open edition of the same artwork. My edition sizes range from 50 to
